ok, ive update from 4.50 to 4.63 via the load menu. it asked me to reboot my mpc, when i reboooted it, it now says this info:

mpc1000 BootBlock ver 1.03
Boot on Emergency Mode
A compact flash card was detected
Detected FAT32 Volume
OS file searching...
A correct OS wasnt found
System Halt

and wont load the new os. however, it will allow me to load older versions of the os. anyone else getting this prob. no idea what it is, and for some gay reason, i only hav ver 1.00 of j.j os. if no-one has any idea wat the prob, could the point out where i get ver 4.62? Ok ive also tried ver4.59, the only one that seems to work is ver 1.00. wat the hell is going on

try taking out the cf card, i don't use one at all. i have all my os files in a separate folder (marked 'OS Files' funnily enough!) on the hard drive. that way i can always switch from os to os when i want. if there's any OS files in the root, it may cause problems i guess.

I use a CF card and place it in the root folder with no problems, and just delete it after everything is running properly.

Make sure the download was complete and didn't time out, nor is corrupted (i suggest re-downloading.

Also make sure the extension is .bin

and make sure there aren't any other os's just chillin around (this may be fine, but if your having problems, get rid of them)

havnt tried upgarding from v 4.51 yet. once im back home ill give it a go. my usual procedure is download the os, put my cf card into my card reader, and drag the .bin file into the root folder of the cf card. take the card out and place it in the mpc, then switch on the mpc, go to load, and then select the os. i always make sure that any previous .bin files r deleted. very odd. it could b a prob upgrading from 4.5 to 4.60, mayb, 4.51 to 4.60 wont hav any probs.
