tough choice.......may have to go for the dualie.....its just to much power to pass up......but make sure to get a 1000 down the line

The dual for sure, but I'm not sure why you are comparing these things. One is the fastest computer, one is a drum sampler.

Didn't seem like that, but to answer your question.

Can you afford either one? If you can, the definately hit up the dual G5. That's the one I copped. There's more to it than a fast processor. You also have more dimm slots, faster bus speeds, etc. I need this computer to last me a long time, so I want to be able to have the fastest possible machine I can get my hands on right now, and one that also can be upgraded.

Get the dual 1.8ghz or dual 2.0ghz.

I would wait, considering the G5s haven't been upgraded in almost a year. Speed increases should be coming soon (although they've been rumored since Feb).

yes there are rumors of new g5s, which will drop the price of the existing ones when they come out

But if you really were doing G5 or mpc1000, id go g5 and logic all the way with a midi controller and add a mpc later
