Formatting!

I have two zip100 drives for my 3000. one is a SCSI connection the other is a USB connection. I know that whatever zip disk i'll be using should be formatted through the MP but when i do that my zipUSB drive won't recognize the disk when i try it. it just gives me the prompt "Please insert disk into drive" probably meaning that the MP formatted disk is not being recognized as a zip disk. Now prior to formatting the zip disk through the MP i check to see that it works by clicking the the zip icon in "My Computer". It opens a blank file that i can use to store whatever i want onto there.

What am i doing wrong?
Is my set up wrong?
Is anyone else using a zip setup?

I assume you're using a WINDOWS BASED PC where the USB ZIP drive is connected

Right, so you are using a WINDOWS BASED PC where the USB ZIP drive is connected.

The default format of an MPC3000 disk is not supported by computer operating systems.

Your setup will need to be enhanced with additional software tools for your computer operating system.

Tools that allow creation of a CROSS-PLATFORM disk partition.

IE: A disk partition that allows file interchange between MPC3000<>COMPUTER.

This in essence takes most of the head ache out of moving files too and from MPC3000<>COMPUTER.

I got it to work last night. I took a blank zip and formatted it on the MP through the SCSI zip drive. When it finished i took it out and formatted it again through the USB zip using the "MPC XP disk formatter" feature on the MPC Editor v.3 (So yes, i am running Windows XP). Went back and clicked the USB zip drive icon in "My Computer and it opened. Made a quick program with three drum samples on the disk with the MPC Editor v.3. I saved the program to the zip drive, took the disk out, and put it in the SCSI zip drive. the MP recognized, loaded, and played.
