Just Getting Started

Well, I'm Falling Into The Mpc Area Of Music Now..
Played With A Few In Stores.. Went Out And Got Me A Mpc 1000..
After Pressing Buttons And Making Cool Sequences, I Realized
I Know Nothing.. I Would Like Help As Far As A Complete Set Up

Keyboards? Mixers? Ah?

If You Guys Can Help Me Out That Would Be GREAT

theres is no such thing as a complete setup?

it depends what you want to do with your music, are u sampling? composing? djing? if you know what u are goin to be doing then it can be easier to know what u need

I Want To Go Towards Sampling And Composing

there are so many different approaches ... you need to be a little more specific to what your leaning towards or equipment feed back ect. There is no exact studio setup

that's kinda like a BIG request to make here. that's more of a question you wanna ask your salesman at GC or Sam Ash.

Well.

I would recommend this setup.

1 x turntable

1 x Mpc 500

1 x korg k49

1 x sound module. any basic one will do like this ones ok.

And some monitors. Like ns 10's. Basically any small monitors that sound a little bright are the best ones to go for. All the big speakers are only for party's.


With that basic setup their is nothing you cant do. And you will have a lot of fun doing it.

Stay away from computers for as long as possible. Sadly i use one. And it zaps all my time. I also tried to do the plugin + controller thing. Its crap doesn't work. I hate looking at the stupid screen.

The only reson i have a computer is because for mixdown, it would be to $$$ to fill those little plug in slots with real outboard.

I am trying to get back to a basic setup. I just want to use a turntable an mpc and an emax.

I know it takes longer to write a tune on hardware. But all the stuff you write on a computer in 5 min. only ends getting mixed directly to the trash can!

sound modules are the sound without the keys. you need a midi controller to play it...hook it up and bang out!

Before spendin more money on more equipment, u should learn to use ur mpc more
