I've only owned the 2500 for about a lil less than 6months. But, during the time that I was on the Akai OS vs. the time I've been on JJ's, I've had worse crashes on the Akai where I would have lost actual work. JJ's bugs are usually kinda minor, i.e. certain features not working properly initially but JJ's OS has never actually crashed on me yet.

I never had a crash using the Akai OS 1.22. Currently, I use the JJ OS even with its quirks...the additional features are nice. Just wish they would hurry up and make it stable.

Update...JJ just released an update fixing bugs...not the ones mentioned in other threads though.

something that i was wondering... if I buy the jjos, and it seems they upgrade often, do I have to buy the new upgrade? and also, I was confused by the pages description... but can I test it out before I buy it, jus can't save anything? or will the os not load without a password? thanks guys, I appreciate it..

If OS 1.22 is crashing on you, there is something most likely wrong with your MPC. I may be wrong, but I recall you stating that JJ OS 3 was solid...that joint is riddled with bugs.

I was trying to look for the threads where you wrote about your MPC crashing using OS 1.22, but can't seem to find any. Did you just keep this info to yourself?

The bugs JJ fixed in 5.18 were the two bugs i reported straight to him, i didn't think that they were major enough to post in here. He didn't fix my pad bug, thst sux!!!

i used the words "freezed-up" not to say that OS 1.22 was crashing(by the way it was sometimes), i meant
since may 2006 akai thinks there is no need to advance the OS ,this is no support (and they stopped it anyway because they know they aren´t able to keep up with JJ)
the time i used 1.22 i was really mad about it cause it was obviously there had to be some changes (and i did know they could do it without expenditure) but nothing happend.
i wrote my problems and wishes on a slip of paper to post it someday to akai

then came the day jj released OS 3 for 2500 ,and i could check of everything on my paper . i never noticed 3.06 is "riddled with bugs"
...some little things, OK, but nothing you can´t work around (and it never crashed since now) ,it´s a compromise you accept some bugs and get an OS which is developing on and on ,i´ll never step back to akaiOS
MY POINT OF VIEW! (sorry for bad grammar)
