I got an open box sale on some Event ALP 5's ... i love them for now. They are perfect for the home studio and usually fairly close and a good reverence for when i hit the studio, im tryin to get that s100 sub that goes with it but havent been able to find it. Monitors are a tricky thing

Also do some research! Go to guitar center or something with a bunch of CDs and listen to a whole load of them! That's the best way to buy monitors because at the end of the day everyones' ears hear things differently
