So I bought a used MPC1000.

Advertised on a forum I met up with the dude he plugged it in let me use his headphones and he tested it out with me.. Spent about an hour with me showing me different features!

So now as I am using it I notice a few problems.

I get no audio on my stereo out when I am loading samples or programming pads or just on the main screen or anywhere heh..

I also notice the pads act weird... I may be mistaken but I think the pads don't work sometimes and they actually randomly play samples twice or 3 times!?

I am guessing this guy bought it found out all the problems with it and now screwed me over with it.

I even asked the dude if he had any problems with it and over and over he said he didn't..

So before I make his life miserable i'd like to know if these are problems a lot of people have and akai will fix it for me.. Or that I can fix myself...

Edit: No problems with my pads I was wrong.. Maybe I need a *pad* for being a ****... I just have the stereo out problem now..

I'm definately new to the MPC but from what i've seen it shouldn't matter.

Have any input on my other issue?

the pads may very well need replaced.

do you know how long dude had it?

how much did you pay?

the issue with the pads is somwhat inexpensive if you read Antonyms info on it.

as far as the other stuff, it sounds like you are just getting used to it.

i had some weird things happen to me until i figured everything out.

STEP EDIT is your friend.

You could be using the wrong types of cables, you may have ur mixer channels assigned to the assignable outs, what are ur stereo outs connected to?

whats the Main Volume knob on?

I have played with the main volume set all over the place.. I was able to hear a little bit of audio in my speakers when I had my amp and mpc1000 set to max volume.

The cables are my concern.. I am using RCA cables with plugs to convert them to 1/4.. My amplifier does not use 1/4 plugs...

and they are going straight into an amplifier's aux input...

When you say mixer you mean one seperate from anything inside the mpc1000 right?

so is there no audio whatsoever coming from your mpc, or just not in the load and program screens (as you said in the original post)?

try using the main INs on your amp, could be a busted AUX IN. or bad cables.... also try using the cable with the headphone jack's output into your amp to see if your main outs are fux0r3d.....

oh yeah, did you check ALL your connections? maybe something got unplugged during setup.....

Their is audio coming from the MPC into the headphones.

but no audio coming from the stereo out.

I can faintly hear audio if I turn the Amp to max and the MPC to max volume.

I tried Different cables and different inputs.

I was going to test the amp with the headphone output but thought that'd be bad I don't want to amplify that signal..

I need to know if their is a setting for the Stereo Out..

I am using the "unofficial" JJOS?

I think I may be slightly stupid.

The pads have zero problems!

It was the way I was hitting the pads.

I sat down today and really beat the shit out of it to see what was really going on..

If I drop my finger a certain way on the pad it has a tendancy to bounce and hit the pad again..it is the slightest bounce I cant even really feel or see it but it still hits so thats why the sample is playing twice or three times.. sounds good when u actually wanna do it..

I think my headphones were also cutting out so that didnt help..

I have read a lot about the pad problem on this forum and am very scared.

I still haven't figured out the audio out problem... i'm going to get some high quality cables tomorrow.... This one really pisses me of.. I just want to start using this **** thing allready its been 5 days !!!
