is it me, or does changing the level values in the global program edit page not effectthe level values in the regular program page?

i don't like that... is their a way to edit all the sample levels at once that doesn't effect the mixer?

wouldn't it do the exact same thing?

sort of... but you can make the samples louder (all at once)...

for exapmle, i have a bunch of pre-OS 2.10 progs that have their levels set to 70 (which used to be the max velocity)... there is no way i'm going to individually turn all those sample levels to 100

i think it would just be better to be able to adjust both the mixer levels and sample velocity fromwithin the global program edit page

ya dig? kind of hard to explain...

as far as i know, turning them up in gpe will do what you want.

unless i'm missing something, adjusting the level in gpe affects the mixer settings only... seems weird that it be set upthat way IMO

new Program Mode (Global Param Edit) level applies to the mixer.
in old program mode, there is a completely different place to adjust the "level" of your sample. this is on the first page of old program mode. (
"layer level." this is now available in NPM upon WINDOW of pad number.

old program mode blows.

yo nym... i think it would be dope if you could adjust the "level" of the sample of all pads at once in the GPE page.... it would be dope if you could adjust the levels of BOTH the mixer and the sample

Would this be hard to do? Could you let JJ know?... seems like you let him know about bugs pretty often

you can do both from the GPE page.

first - to adjust the pad level, go to the OUT page
2nd - to adjust the layer level, hit WINDOW over the pad number on the 1st GPE page.

maybe i'm misunderstanding you?

yeah i think you are....

if you go to the GPE page... you can adjust the level of the pads, but this only applies to the mixer's levels... even with Akai's OS, you could do this 16 pads at a time by going to the "mixer screen"...

to repeat and hopefully clarify things... if you go to the GPE page, then press F5 a bunch of times... press "whole"... then adjust the levels under "LEVL" for the whole program... then these changes affect the mixer levels

what i would like, is to have the level changes that i specify in the GPE pages to be reflected in the settings in the actual program, as evidenced by looking at the Old Program Page

this way, i could finally adjust all my pre-OS 2.10 programs' samples' volumes to 100 instead of having them at 70 (the old level maximum b4 OS 2.10)

in my opinion, it would be best if you could adjust both the MIXER levels and actual SAMPLE levels from within GPE... i know you can the sample levels fromwithin the GPE page by pressing window over the pad number on the 1st GPE page, but i want to be able to do this for all the pads at once like you can for every other parameter on the GPE page

to me, it seems kind of weird not to be able to do this

ya hear me know?

when in gpe, and you've pressed window on the pad name, you can just hit different pads to adjust their levels, rather than coming out of that window, changing pad, pressing window again. not what you want, but it might help.

now we're on the same page. i'd LOVE to be able to do GLOBAL layer level/tune adjustments on that WINDOW screen, as you're saying. i've wanted that for a long time.

meanwhile, as modnar says, you can just hit the next pad and change values there but it'd be nice if there was a WHOLE option in that section of GPE.

...especially since we could already change the mixer levels of 16 pads at a time even b4 the JJ OS

what is the process of making suggestions to JJ?

there is none really - but i'll do what i can. it'd really make building velocity layer level pgms a breeze.
