How do I set the bpm when I'm recording my vocals?[Record]

I'm trying to record my vocals to a 92 bpm tempo, and I was wondering if there is a way to set the metronome to play while I'm in the record field. I want to be able to count the clicks... Any help or suggestions would be great... thanks

No there's not. When I'm recording into the MPC and want to be right on with BPM...I throw my Roland 1680 into record with it's metronome on, and monitor the roland through my phones -

Plus...unless you've got some really good pitch you're gonna want to monitor some kind of part so you stay in tune ..right?

In those cases I do the same thing and monitor through the Roland

Other ideas are just setting up a portable metronome with the sound off and the led's on...pretty hard to follow though.

hit record and play in main and start the sequencer

then hit record(sampling mode record) and the metrodome will play in the background and you can do it from there

Thats the same method I use, and it works fine, at least as far as the tempo goes. I use headphones to keep the click out of the mic (of course).

That what the Tech From Akai told me...

To record a sample while listening to the metronome in the MPC4000:
1. Go to an unused Sequence and set the BPM to the desired amount.
2. From the Main Screen of the MPC, move the cursor to the "Count" field and press "Window".
3. Set the "In Play" field to "On".
4. When you go into the "Record" page to record a sample, and you press the play start key, the blank sequence will play and the metronome will play (at the tempo you have set in step 1).
