How do I get my MPC fixed?

I guess there is something wrong with the scsi port on my MPC 2000 because I can't get it to load sequences from 2 different functioning zip drives and scsi cables. Any suggestions as to how to get the sampler serviced?

where u from? I had mine fixed at Wizard Electronics in Atlanta, Georgia. They fix anything thats a musical electronic.

i dont think its the MPC.. it has to be something wrong with the scsi drives or the disks are corrupt or something..

I don't know about that. I mean why would both drives act exactly the same way? I have many discs of my projects and none of them have loaded either. There's no way that all of these discs are all of the sudden "corrupted"... Any more suggestions? This situation sure sucks.

what does the MPC screen say when you try to load from the zip drives?

It might be the jumpers on the back of the zip drive.

Or maybe it has something to do with SCSI ID. As far as I know mpc has ID 6, so if you are using 2 zip drives connected at the same time, you should give them unique ID's, like 4 and 5 for example. Maybe you have given them the same ID's so mpc cannot recognize any.
Don't forget to turn on the termination in zip drives.
Just a thought, I might be wrong.

Yeah, sounds like your SCSI's arent matching up... Do you know how to change the SCSI ID's on your zip drives that you are trying to use on the MPC...

There is a little switch on the back that says 5 and 6. I have tried each position and get the same message "scsi not ready".

What are your SCSI termination settings?

The termination is "on". I am giong to check all this again when I am actually in my studio. Thanks.

I actually got one of the drives to load some sounds and a program but I can't load sequences. Anyone else had this happen?
