i searched the forums for hard drive in the 2000/2000xl forum and didnt find much.
I bought a external SCSi hard drive at a thrift store for 10 bucks with the big printer end to 25 pin end into my Mpc classic. Its got a terminator switch on the back that is set to 5, which im sure is good. I was wondering when i hook it up if old random files from the previous owner that were on the hard drive like word processing stuff or something will show up. Should i format the hard drive off the bat if it is showing up and being read?

The hard drive says it was refurbished in 1996 around the year the mpc classic came out so i hope it is compatible... i guess i wont know till i hook it up. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or knew a good procedure for me to follow when i hook it up and turn it on for the first time.
thnx for any help

On a 2000classic
if i wanted to chain a external hard drive and a zip drive to my Mpc SCSi port... which should I hook to the Mpc and which should i chain ,the hard drive or the zip drive?

The zip has been booting the O.S. on it ...
Also, could I save the O.s. on the hard drives memory and it boot up ok?

What should i do concerning a ZIP/Hard drive SCSi chain on the 2000 classic?

Does the Mpc read the lowest in the termination numbers first like 5 , then 6 then 7... or does it read what is directly hooked to it first and then proceed down the chain?

thnx for any help
