Ms2000 with Mp 4000

I been searching around the boards to see if someone had the same question but I couldn't find it. I been reading the manuals for the the Korg ms2000 and mpc 4000 and can't figure out how to get more than one midi track playing in the mpc when I record from the MS via midi. How do I go about getting more than one midi track playing in the mpc with the korg, via midi? Thanks.

Go to the track and you will see out1 and out2 you set the Part to Midi 1-D whatever Port you have going into the Input Port of your MS2000. Make sure you set the correct midi channel as the program on your MS2000.

If you want more than one program playing do the same as above with differnt midi channels for different programs. If you are using the same programs you can use as many tracks assigned properly as you like.

I recommend you pick up a basic midi guide for reference and reread pages 20 and 21 in the user`s manual. You can`t miss it. Good luck

The problem may also be with the MS2000's limited polyphony. It only has 4 voice polyphony, so it can only play back 4 notes at a time regardless of MIDI channel and it doesn't seem to be multitimbral so you can't play back notes though more than one patch at once.

exactly what i was going to say... i believe this issue is the same with the Micro Korg... its not that you arent playing back those other notes, they are just silent because of lack of polyphony
