Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By devegan Wed Apr 07, 2004 8:44 pm
Just found an MPC 2000($200) with an all white screen.Completely blank.
Could this mean the LCD went out and the whole screen needs to be replaced?
Or has anyone ever accounted anything like this?

Try this first.....Hold down Shift & move your Data wheel......If the screen color does get darker....Than yeah....you need to replace the screen.

Did it even load the OS? or is the blank screen the first thing you see when you turn it on? If it's the only thing you saw you need to dowload the OS onto your computer and put it on a floppy and put the floppy in the drive to load the OS in...

Yeah, the OS is not even loading.Just a blank screen from point of turning on.Nothing even happens when I try and turn the contrast. No lines or anything??

$200? damn!! smells fishy cuz. thats too cheap for an mpc. i dont care what model mp is is. thats a bit too cheap

I guess it is kinda cheap, especially when I pulled a working EB16 and 8 out board for my 2000xl.
Its gotta be the LCD,becuase I did manage to navigate through the menus and load a sound.Played it on a pad and everything, sounds good.

Keep it! Replacing the screen wont set you back too much, and then you can sell it for 4 times what you paid.
