Saving - Waves or Sounds?

Heya,

I usually save on the MPC as Waves so i can transfer over to the puter for editing if needs be. What does everyone else do?

I know Sounds are smaller and load faster (not really know..just read other peoples comments on it).

Do most of you save in Sounds or Waves?

wav,s, everytime.... just incase i wanna do some quik edits or apply vst efects to some of the sampless.

So you don't find the difference in size that it saves to be an issue?.. I ca't imagine that they can be too far apart..

I'm just converting everything over from Zip to Compact Flash and thought.. should i keep using wave or not..

nah not in with the cost of CF cards and the size, i back up to he PC if theres ever a space issue.

wavs here too. that way i can process them easier.

editing on pc always easy when needed

i used to save as sound files when i had a zip drive.
now i got a card reader and i too save my shit as waves
just for the editing.. i never had the opportunity
to edit my sounds on the pc before. this is a beatiful thing..

as for the loading speed;
i guess loading waves from a cf card is about as fast
as loading sound files from a zip disk (does that make any sense??)
coz i don't feel like its loading much faster...

i was going to do a test at some point.. but if a 300kb sample reduces by 1-2kb.. thats nothing..

yeah think i'll stick to wavs too then.. especially now i'm moving over to CF cards

ive been recording alot of stuff into the mpc, instead of into my computer, it jsut sounds better, i am a full time wav saver nowadays, back in the zip era, its was snd's cause normally thats the default setting its on when you goto save a pgm or aps.

I save samples twice, once on a Flash card as wav so I can have somethng to load to my computer and then I back up my samples as SND on another card that never goes near my computer , just in case my 1st wav file became corrupt, deleted ,lost, etc,. this way I can't lose. I can always load my back up SND on my mpc, and save it again as a WAV. it might seem dumb but we all have our ways of working, thats why I go thru the extra hassle, I really dont notice or care about loading times. a wise man once told me "in the digital realm if it doesn't exsist twice, it doesn't exsist at all!"
