O.K i don't know whats up, but im trying to record some vocals and things but when i plug a mic in and hit rec you cant hear anything even if you whack up the input to max. The only way you get to hear something is if you put the bit grunger on full but as you know that distorts it so much. It's a dynamic mic so shouldn't need any preamp should it?

Is there anyway of sampling sounds on the go without a mixer with this thing cuz if not this is totally the wrong thing for me??

im not a pro here but i did notice theres a switch in the back to change to mic input

i sample from my pc, i guess it depends what you wanna sample
but it will basiclly pick up any incoming sound.....

for example i plugged some rca's to my tv ran it to the mpc and just clowning i was sampling the simpsons in seconds.....

yeah hit that little switch , and use compression if you want to hear things louder. you can resample that with the main out recording function, if want to. no cables needed. and ofcourse if you are ready with recording you could normalize the vocal (or whatever) in trim mode for a louder volume when playing back.
