Im happy with my MPC4k, but while they are still updating we might as well request more (you can dream if you want)

-The ill fated, and promised Auditioning sounds from HD or any other
source

With Audition they may be able to add in
-Real-Time Time Compression/Expansion and/or Pitch Shifting

-Ability to be able to have more flexibility in Ak Sys as far as moving files would be great as well, maybe something like a simple pattern seq in Ak.sys, or the ability to be able to do midi editing direct from Ak sys would be super nice (nothing fancy just enough to keep me from having to bother with setting up another sequencer)

-Project files that will load samples in different folders so im not constantly saving the same samples over and over

-Dedicated EQ on each pad in a drum program (Treble and Bass would do)(Very nice feature when you get used to it, not to mention the EQ in the 4k sucks ass:( )

Feel free to ramble on about anything you would like :)

I totaly agree with you on the loading samples part.

Also the eq does suck, but i think akai just aint good at fx and filters.

I would love to see the denote by pitch, or pad mute function in 1.6.

The most important thing for me is the slowing down on responding to knobs and shit, somehow this is a bug on the implement of the intell chip. There are more poeple having this problem and i think the betatesters need to do their homework properly next time

So the 4k filters suck too?

Having used a DPS16 before, I'm not surprised about the fx. Especially the reverb was total c.r.a.p in that machine (which I loved for all its other features, btw). But I thought the filters were at least okay?

(No 4k here.)

Here's my additional list of feature requests:

- Sample streaming!!! This way I can record long audio tracks straight to disk (and play them again). It's there on the S5/6k. It was on the 4k box. Please, please implement that.

- Serious reverb effect.

- 8 instead of 4 fx send busses, where only the first 4 can be routed to the internal fx engines, and the other 4 can be routed to the 8-output board.

- Separate track lengths, where each track loops around it's own length (simplified Yamaha style). Not too hard to implement imo, and adds *serious* power to the sequencer. Send me the sources, I'll do it, for free.

- Non destructive MIDI real-time fx, like playback speed factor per track, midi delay per track, note shift per track (both note and timing). (Again Yamaha style).

- MIDI chopper, where a MIDI track is chopped and (randomly) procesed in various ways (see RS7000 loop-remix, which does this in real-time!).

the filters on the 4k are some of the best I've used on a piece of hardware

most of the features are already mentioned! first i really hope audition samples from hd gets implemented and the fx return level gets repaired! these features have top priority. then in my wishlist come the following:

1. Separate track lengths, where each track loops around it's own length.

2. EQ! and no crap please, ... with at least par mids! as part of the mixer (maybe on a new page there just for eq)! for pads and parts, please!

3. FX: more fx busses! i m operatin the 4k at 96khz so the fx busses are halfed! meaning just 2 sends and 1 qfx! Please at least the 4 sends and the 2 qfx's even if one is operatin the 4k at 96!

4. and an easy one: Timing Correct (TC) also for 1/4, 1/4 (3), ... 171!

5. Midi Routing: Abilty to send midi in I or II to midi Out a,b,c,d in order to use external keyboards and sound modules better!

6. an extension board which one could add over/behind its 4k with lots of q-link knobs! 20 knobs which are quick and easy to set and which one can store which each project (just as those 6 now actually!) should be allright!

7. and what about the possibility to attach a pc monitor!

cheers

Love that one, but I think also they should have a overhead Rack that can hold 4 midi modules and one row of QLink nobs.

all I want is to have the fx routed through q-link and to be able to save either multies or q-link setting to a designated sequence and to be able to toggle between sequences without any gliches

You can't switch sequences without glitches?

sup all ,
this got posted elsewere a while back by sean w

Re: Sean: OS next

The priority for the next major update is the "Audition Samples from Disk" feature.
We are also planning additional improvements. I previously mentioned a new GLOBAL MUTE option for the TRACK MUTE mode where the track mutes will not be reset when changing to the next sequence (for live applications).
We also intend to improve the FX Levels.

Regarding the new USB drivers, V2.0.0 driver is for Windows Xp and 2000. We are also going to release soon a V2.0.1 driver for Windows 98.

Of course, we have more plans for new features and improvements in the MPC4000, but I cannot publish them at the moment.

Also, it is too early to give an ETA for the next OS as V1.51 as been released very recently. I will keep you posted as soon as an official ETA is available. ""

good looking reveal, maybe we should submit some of the more realistic updates we'd like to see to them

sup,
yeah man ,theres some tight ideas above,we should keep this thread rolling,

Id like a numerical display of the current fader position in the part and pad mixer page .(as seen in Kg mix, theres just enough room below the faders).

In the Sample edit pade there to be a choice of either ;region, trim,or loop when using the rescale function.

using a midi note as record trigger to be developed so u can play back what uve just recorded from the trigger so it would be a sort of auto assignment to the pads. (this would enable u to build up ur tracks without stoping to assign samples as long as u set up sequnces before hand)?????, and mabye so u can stop recording with a midi trigger as well or a record sample to end of selected sequnce option when using the midi trigger option. This function has a whole host of possibilities. And im sure we would probaly all use it in a number of differnt aplications.???? see were im coming from with this one?

and for the manual to be rewritten with all os addendums added. which i think is fair enough, cause if i was new user i think id find it a nightmare with so much of the original manual or ref not even being accurate anymore
