TR 808 site? Or any info on mods and maintenance advice...

I thought maybe a fellow MPC60/3000 owner might be in the know...

After only ever borrowing a TR-808 I have finally bought one! Needs a bit of TLC though.

Been trying to find info on maintenance and Mods for the TR808... Seems like there isn't much out there.

I want to fix it up and give the bass drum a longer decay time...

Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated.

I found schematics etc... but I was hoping for more in depth info and advice... Like this forum but for 808's...

I wonder if their is such a forum: "dedicated to analog drum machines/synth/mods/repair" I can't find it...

The service manual for the TR-808 explains in detail how each circuit block functions.

The schematic shows the actual circuit.

Anything more will be "your Zen skill in the art of circuit bending and modification".

Thanks for the info bro... Already checked all that stuff out... Was hoping for some personal experience from someone who's done a mod or fixed up their 808... Don't want to hack into the beast with out hearing the "cautionary tales or glowing reports"

Ok ... so you want to have your unit modified but don't wish to perform modifications your self.

There must be some one in NZ who can help you

If not ... you may have to send your beast to the nearest capable circuit bender in Australia.

Found a guy in NZ who can fix the 808 up... He might even try to give it the longer decay mod as well! If it sounds dumb I'll just get him to reverse the procedure...
