Unique filter and attack settings for layers on one pad?

Quick JJ OS question... I'm thinking of moving to the JJ OS.

Can I apply uniques settings to different layers with the JJ OS:

e.g. Layer one a hard attack kick with a LP filter at 60, layer two a slower attack sub with a LP filter down at 40?

I think this is impossible with the Akai 1.22.

no...as far as i know, there´s only one filter setting per pad..that´s with akai os aswell as with jj´s...

but jj´s offers the so called simult pad function...that is when hitting one pad it can trigger another pad simultanious...and then you could apply different filters to the pads...

akai specification will not allow it, but as aux said simult works the exact same way. the coolest thing is, you can apply a qlink slider to the SIMULTED pad but NOT the main one.

so think about this - put a normal useable acoustic kick with a good presence but not too much low end on A01.

now simult A01 to B01 where you have a booooom kick or a sine wav.

now assign a qlink to REALTIME LEVEL to B01.

now you can adjust the particular level of the sine wav independent of the acoustic kick. you can turn it on and off with the qlink, or just adjust loudness at certain intervals for the purpose of expression.

simult + qlink is NO JOKE. it brings soooo much more dynamic to the concept of drum layering.

Man that sounds crazy! I am used to the MPC 60, so am finding out just how much I can do on this baby.

I've been nervous about moving to the JJ OS and losing stability... but stereo chop and this simultaneous pad deal are a bit too good to lose out on.

How about aesthetically...does the OS look (font, style etc) like a botch job, or does it feel easy to work with?

I really would worry about that at all, there's is very little stability issues and generally if they do occure they get fixed just after they are found.

With regards to look, it certainly doesn't look like a botch job for the most part...the main thing with the look is the font is different..once you start working with it though it doesn't make any difference.

there are a couple who complain about the font being too small, but most everyone likes the smaller font. lets you fit much more on one page/have access to more parameters on 1 page (see global program edit).
