Hum ok.

What do you use to format your floppy disc ?

The mpc can't read formatted floppy via windows xp.

we formatted the disk on the 60 and then put it in a USB floppy drive and try to bring the snd's on the disk. Come on lampdog or someone make me feel like an idiot and show me whats good please :)

what kinda disk you usin? make sure you format it as DD in the 60 first (put tape over the lower-rigth hole if you are using an HD disk). then, use MPCeditor to save to floppy as 3K files.

does your XP PC recognize the files on the disks which you can't read on the 60? try saving them to your PC, then export via this method and give it another shot.

were using DD disks, im gonna try resaving to computer but the pc does recognize the snd which is strange.

You can't format the floppy into the mpc and have xp to reconize it.

What you need to do is formatting your floppy with windows 98 or older.

You can still use a little software called "Alkonost Maxformat" to be able to format within xp.

im talking about some drum files from the computer in wav being put on a disk as snd's and loaded on the 60.

I know man for this you need a correct formatted floppy and you need a software like mpc editor or awave studio.

The end.....

just did it with awave on a DD disk. it saves as .au even though i put it snd type 2 mpc60/3000. au and snd are the same it seems like from wavelab and awave?

I really want to figure out how to do this as well. I'm using OS X, and I can't figure out how to make the OS recognize my USB floppy drive.

Once that's figured out, the next issue seems to be the fact that the snd files are 16-bit, but the MPC 60 saves 12-bit files.

If anyone knows what's up, this would be extraordinarily helpful.

i tried everything, i sample in now though just cause itd be more of a waste of time to figure it out. keep it grimier use the rec in!

I'm using OS X and it recognize my USB floppy drive well. What kind of floppy drive do you use? Is it supposed to be OS X compatible? Mine is a "SmartDisk 2x Titanium Floppy Drive" bought from aplle on net:

The 60 is, with the new OS, supposed to read 3000 files, even stereo. Don't know if this is possible with the old/regular OS tho. But the 60 has 16 bit converters but save samples in 12 bit or something like that, so the 12/16 bit is not a problem. I think.

I just got my floppy drive working, had to format them in the MPC first (duh, I feel stupid now).

I don't have an app yet to convert wav to snd files on os x. Is there anything out there? I am itching to make this work, it'd really be the missing piece in the puzzle for my system.
