Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi everybody..., i've just bought secondhand mpc 2000. I have a problem working with mpc as a slave midi to digi002. I just want the mpc as source for my drums sound and drums pad not as a sequencer machine. With standard midi connection mpc to digi002, it won't work because evrytime i hit mpc pad (eg. on my kick sound) there's wrong midi signal so the mpc produced rapid sound (in this case rapid kick sound, sort of raygun effect ) and the signal on the protools midi track also not working properly.
my set up:
Juno G ----USB to Mac computer
Mpc2000 midi in to 002 and Vice versa (002 midi out1)
002 midi out2 to EMU 5000
Does anyone knows to solve this problem? Thanx so much
:o

Sounds like you are suffering from a MIDI LOOP...

Start by removing the midi OUT from the MPC...

On another note, if you are not using the MPC sequencer, what sequencer will be used?

i had that problem and still do if i dont change the setting on the 2000xl. i havent messed with my 2000 for a while since i got the 500, but if my memory is right, change the midi soft thru setup off (like wen u select the midi channel on the mpc, press "open window" and it should hav an option like that). test it and let me know if it works. if not, i gotta go through it again to find out.

:D Thanx a lot Guys.....
Cosmic: Thanx man, you solved my problems. I have to staytuned to this forum, It make my life easier. Sorry for my bad english. Cheers.

Klear.koat: i work on protools Le 6.9 as my midi sequencer and audio (Daw), I also use a lot of softsynths (virtual instrument) in Protools. I think it's easier working in one box with many option instruments. But when it comes to drums sound, i found that sample generate from MPc has more punch and rawness. So i am thinkin about using mpc again as my drums sound.
Bout 4 years ago i always sequencing on Mpc 60 not on computer midi, Thanx so much
