about trimming samples

when you've recorded a sample to mpc1000, and you start cutting off the parts you don't need, if you use only the program wheel, its damn slow, and the numeric thing is also quite slow cuz... well it is,
so, can you change the time what the program wheel moves by one step, you know, so it isnt like 1.035-1.036-1.037, but like 1.035-1.045-1.055.. yaal know what i mean right, thanks

no u can't. The fastest method is to use numeric. I also would like the wheel to go faster.

if i understand you correctly (not sure that i do), when trimming, hold down the shift button and use the cursor arrows (purple buttons below jog wheel) to move to your liking. doing this will allow you to adjust you sample however you want without scrolling forever.

hope that makes sense. play with it and you figure it out. (that is if i understood you correctly)

i have new question, cant you have more than 2 effects per track?! i mean you select in the mixer do the track use fx1 or fx2, so how can you use more than 2 effects in a beat?

You can change efx settings by inserting an efx change in step edit OR you can apply efx and then internally resample it as a new sample

The internal FX are limited, true, not very hands-on. You may want to look at something external for live use, e.g. Korg Kaoss Pad (longtime favourite of many folks), Alesis AirFX (strange & cool), or even cheap & nasty guitar stomp boxes.

Right now I have a AirFX on the main outs, (it's transparent unless activated) and a Korg DL8000 on separate outs (for synced delay FX). After the mixer, it all goes through a Fat-1 tube compressor, then to PC for burning.
