hi everyone,
if you planning to use wavelab v4 to process your samples before exporting them to your mpc1k, here's a tip to avoid ugly surprices!
you'll need to go to options\preferences\file and deactivate"create optimized audio file headers" otherwise you will get a click sound at the start. the helpfile on that settings page in wavelab even warns you that some gear behaves that way. another cause of click sound is often DC offset in start of a wave file. most serious audio editors do however have that tool integrated.

Here is a post I made a couple of times previous to this thread that alludes to this issue in Wavelab so you might add the other setting that I mentioned also.

"I am using wavelab 4 and loops work fine. Did you try this? go to preferences under tools and click on the file tab and make sure you don't have "Create optimized audio file headers" and "Write markers in wave file header" checked. These can both cause problems with other hardware or software."

The "Write markers in wave file header" bit... do those markers include loop points? If so, unchecking that could wipe any loop points you've created. If you have Wavelab, you can test this by creating loop points in the MPC1000 Trim mode, then loading and saving that file in Wavelab, to see if they get lost.

I also just found this "nagware" utility, which claims to strip off excess WAV headers:

In files I created with Adobe Audition, it finds "SyLp" and "smpl" chunks, the latter is necessary for sampler loop points to be kept.
