In what sample rate and bit depth did you record this file ?
It should be in the preferences of the file.
Of course there is a way to keep files minimized, you can compress wavs to a standard mp3 files, but surely you loose some important data then.
Basically, it all comes to this:
- do you want (in any way) to edit/change your recorded file after recording ?
If yes, then keep recording as wavs and save them.
- do you want to burn your files on audio cd?
If yes, then keep recording as wavs and save them.
-do you want to keep only compressed mp3 files of your recordings? (no archive as wavs)
If yeas, then keep recording as wavs and save them, then convert to mp3 and delete all wavs, which of course are big cause they contain way more important data than mp3 files.
