mpc500 price question

whats goin on people.. im new here and im wondering if anyone knows where i can get the 500 for the best price. gc around my way has them for 699. anything cheaper than that? or know of any gc sales comin up? thanks

I got my 500 at GC. The guy was trying to sell it to me for $699 but I told him my price range was $500. I looked around a little bit morein the store then he said he would go ask his MGR and see if he could work the price down. I ended up buying it for $549. They can go lower, it just depends on who you get and if they are willing to make a sale. Just goes to show how much the stuff is marked up.

wow thats a good deal dj idea.. ive heard that gc would budge sometimes too so i might try that. was it $549 with sales tax included?

got mine from vstservice for 599 with 1gb cf card and 128mb ram installed, plus they give you an extended warranty...

Thats a good deal right there. Damn! I had to buy the ram. I had an extra 2gb cf card layin around. Was the $599 with taxes?

hi i'm new here as well. I'm from Poland and i'm going to buy mpc500 from U.S. bcause in Poland is quite expensive (ca 750-800$ without any extras like ram or cf). If anyone could write me pm where i can buy (new) mpc i'd be thankful

those little bastards are worth half what they ask. I bought mine for 775 including the 128 ram and a 1g card and I still fee **** ripped off.

Akai for doing that to me lol. Although I bought my MPC1K for 650 fully loaded so it all evens out I guess.

I wanted the 1000 but I didnt want to pay over 6 papers for a used one from ebay! so I settled on the 500..... . yeah I do feel ripped off but what can we do...600 is the best I found, I hope you can do better

at the end of the day its an MPC, so even if its over priced its better then the rest of the stuff in dat price range...I got alot of extras so im satisfied...now I just gotta learn how to work it.

i don't understand all this talk about what the machine is 'worth'.. worth compared to what? the 500 is what it is and costs what it does.

if it's not worth it to you why get it and furthermore, why debate it unless you've got a plan to petition akai or the like

I got a 500 and I love it. I've never had anything else. This is my first MPC and my fisrt at music production. It was just a question to get an opninion.

that wasn't directed at you specifically but more at the ongoing trend of people so tightly connecting money with the machine. if you want it, get it for a deal you can live with and if not, don't live with it and complain about it. simple.
