What is ths jj os anyway?

Hi can someone please explain me what this is? and whats the purpuse..

sorry for the noob question... im planning on getting a 2500 next month..

It's an OS developed by someone outside of the Akai organization for the newer mpc's.

It's the OS 2000/2000xl users can only dream of :)
Lots of good features, and it's still getting better from what I know and read on this forum.
But I wouldn't change my model anyway :D

No it's for the 1000 and 2500...

the jj os is a special operating system for the mpc series of drum samplers.

It allows you to play 8bit gameboy 1 games like Donkey kong and rtype.

You use the cursor keys and the jog wheel to navigate about. The crappy sound of the mpc is not really up to recreating the original excitement of the games tho.

Its a good idea i think. Go's a long way to compensating the folks who bought the mpc, and have left it gathering dust after discovering "Redrum".

Also i have a very clever secret for you. If you buy a midi interface. You can connect the mpc drum machine? :roll: up to the computer in such a way, that you can use the drum pads to trigger sounds off the Redrum!

Also you if you take all the insides out of the mpc and cut a little door way in the box, It can make a nice "space station" to use with your GI JOE action figures.

I just cooked my dinner to perfection!

Great :D

But this brings up a point. I have owned su700,akai s900, akai s3000 , mpc 1000, emu emax.

The best out of these for creative is the su700.

I think the reason its so fluid to use is the display read out. No graphics what so ever. You tend to end up listening instead of watching!

The new mpcs, you may as well use a laptop. They do to much. I only want a sampler to sample and play back 1 drum loop. The best music ever made was done with just 1 drum loop and nothing else.

Thats how you get the money and the chicks!

All this fancy synth crap is for justin timberlake and nelle faltado.

Yea if you want to sound like a pro. Go out and buy a drumkit.
