Tempos

What's the BEST way to get the tempo of a sample? Whenever I go to the tempo page in the edit menu, It gives me a tempo that NEVER fits my sample in the set number of bars I have. Can someone help me with this?

I answered that so often...I'm gonna write it down this time so I can just copy and paste next time

- Trim the start point of the sample to where you want it to begin.
- Then set the length of a sequence to the number of bars of the sample - if your sample is 2 bars long, set your sequence to 2 bars.
- Put your sample as One Shot on the first note of the sequence, then play the sequence looped and adjust the BPM until the sample loops fine at the end.

That's the best result for the tempo you can get in my opinion.

Same here. Your ear is still the best tool.

Thanks...but what's the deal with Patch Phrases? Isn't that the way you can 16 level a sample and play it at different pitches without the tempo changing?

PP is when you split a loop down in to its elements like Recycle does if youve seen that. I believe some other soft samplers call it zoning.
Once you have the loop in segments you can slow down (spread the individual segments out) or speed up (closer together) the loop without affecting the pitch.

16 levels is where you have a sample, press the 16level butt and you can then have a velo / pitch / etc / etc split over the pads starting bottom to top = low to high.
