Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I cant seem to find a good medium with the samples I have loaded I change them every so often to make it flow easier with the music I create. I usually like kick drums on bank A snares on bank B hats and cymbols on C......but then I only have 16 kicks on a bank and I feel limited so then what I did is put all my kicks on program a and all my snares on prg B and so forth...thats cool I like it that way but i'm not certain if you can use sounds from bank a and b in the same sequence. Is that feasible or is there a more logical way to organize samples? This is on the xl.

On 2000xl:
-max 4 Programs simultaneously
-max 24 Programs in the mpc memory at a time

Rest is in the manual, well explained.
For use of more than 4 Programs in one song, project, refer to Program Change in the manual and read about it.
