Insufficent memory

This might have already been posted but my mpc 1000 still has the 16mb of ram installed and I've deleted everything except for the factory standard samples. Heres the problem every time I try to cut/slice up new samples in trim mode a insufficient memory warning pops up. any idea what could be the problem?

id max it out 128mb if i were you. never have to deal with that again. pretty cheap, real nice.

I'm more curious than anything as to why even though I don't have many samples the memory is still used up

the internal memory that you have in there is not very much. With out a doubt the second you have the money for it i would cop it. Million times better.

"Many samples" is relative. You could have 1 sample in there, but if that 1 sample was say 12MB, you'd have a problem editing it with 16MB of memory. Its about size/capacity, not number of samples.
