I'm thinking of picking up an MPC 60. I currently own a MPC 2000xl. Whats the major difference? I've the heard timing is one key difference. I'm very familiar with the 2000xl, would I be taking a step back or forward with the 60? I've heard nothing but positive feedback on it. what would you do

Honestly, the XL offers a lot, the 60 is good at what it does but it doesn't offer as much. No filters, no effects, no waveform editing, only 26.2 seconds of sample time fully expanded. But it comes with the 8 outs installed and is a great workhorse.

I'd check the roger linn website and look at the upgrade features and check out the manual, that should give you a pretty good idea on what the differences are. as far as power, you would be going backward, but remember, they don't make em like they used to, so going backward can get you more.
