Has anybody ever had this problem? Everything was working fine last week but last night, after attempting to load the HD on my computer desktop (Mac G4 laptop) via USB several times, I realized I might have a problem. And so I just tried at work, on another computer (iMac G5) and still nothing. I tried another USB cable, still nothing. I know the HD is there because I can access all the files. What gives?

Is this the infamous OS 2.1 glitch? What can I do?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

here's a stupid question... did you go to save/load then usb then select the hard drive? the computer will not recognise the hard drive unless you select it on the mpc.

The problem is that it didn't show up on the computer desktop, which is very important to me in order to back up my work and organize my folders.

Well I did MODE, SAVE then selected USB, after which I proceeded to make the connections. After 10-20 seconds or so the HD would appear on my desktop. (It's a new Seagate Momentus 80GB by the way. ) That's how I've been doing it since the beginning and never had a problem. What exactly do you mean by <select the hard drive? the computer will not recognise the hard drive unless you select it on the mpc.> ???

It works now... No clue what happened, i haven't changed anything to my method of loading. I remember reading a few posts about the OS 2.1 glitch. Could that be it? Has anyone experienced this so-called glitch, what are the symptoms?

Thanks

File corruption bug, update as soon as possible to JJ 3.06

Backup your files, format with the new os and you are fine.

When you go to mode > load, there will be an option to select either the hard drive, the memory card or the internal flash drive. Select the hard drive, THEN select the USB function.

Could it be I simply forgot this part? That would explain it probably. Hard to say at this point, can't go back in time. But thank you Lithion, I will definitely remember to pay attention. Feel a bit like a dummy...
