Assigning notes with oxygen 8 midi controller. . .

What's up everyone, i just bought an mpc1000 a few days ago and i love it so far. . .One thing i can't figure out is how to properly set up the midi notes for use with an external controller.

I have everything connected and the oxygen 8 triggers some sounds off the mpc, but it doesn't seem like it's in logical order. For example i have the 808 kit loaded up on Pads 1 through 16, and i want to be able to trigger all of these sounds on my oxygen8 keys in the same order starting with C1

Right now C1 is triggering the snare for example when i would like it to be the kick instead. . .how can i change this?

is there some type of template that can help me with it?

yea I used to have the oxygen controller, but I took it back because either A. it just sucks with an mpc or B. I had no clue how to access the midi features on the 8 with the MPC. I'm leaning towards B. I have a Novation X station now and for whatever reason I can just grasp to concepts of how to assign functions to midi a lot better.

but yea, you just reassign which midi note goes to which key in the program mode.

i dont know how to assign them to certain keys but if u change the octave it will let u get the other samples. i hope that helps a little

The midi notes assigned to the pads of the mpc1000 are all random except for on bank d..

To fixthis , search for "BLANK.PGM" on here, which is a pgm that has the pads in correct order, or get JJOS and in global pgm edit, just hit window on the note value and make it auto set to the correct order.

thanks yall i found that it wasn't really hard just to create a program, make the settings and save it

abdizzle i was able to assign the pads to certain keys by: creating a new program then in the "sample" view (F1) strike a key on the midi keyboard and it will show up on the mpc as blank with no sample assigned. Select your sample/slice then it is assigned to the key you pressed on the midi keyboard.
