Yea, its pretty tight. It is just a little too big for the MPC1000, as the tabs on the side don't slide in far enough to lock it in. But to solve this, I just took those two rubber stoppers that came off the back of my piano stand (because I had to take them off to install the second piano tier) and wedged them in between the MPC and the ends of the stand, it fits perfectly and keeps it in there tight. I've never ever had an issue with it sliding around or moving where I don't want it to. There are two locking wheels that keep it from moving. At first I was like, 'man two locking wheels aren't enough', but its plenty to keep it from moving on carpet.
Only *minor* issue I've had is the sides of the mixer are slightly uncomfortable to rest your palms on for long periods of time, so I'm designing something right now with two mouse pads that I can glue to the ends so I can rest my palms there, but its really not that big of a deal since I don't spend a whole lot of time diddling with the mpc these days, I have gotten fast at the functions and stuff.
