but I was wondering If it is possible to connect a hard disk that i got from my old pc..

is it possible to plug it in somewhere or does it Have to be an external drive?

and if its possible where does it go? Do I have to open the mpc?

You can use an internal harddrive to upgrade, althought I think it only accepts certain brands. I can't tell you exactly where it shows how to do so, but pull a google search and it's there. Wish I could help more
*EDIT* Found something that may be of some help, shows the tested Hard Drives that work with the 2500:

You can not plug in that HDD, cause MPC accepts only HDD's designed for laptops. And to put that laptop HDD in it you got to buy a special kit first. It's cheap and easy to install. You can try googling for it AKAI HDM 10 i think

To make it clearer...you CAN ONLY use a laptop harddrive with the MPC. You do have to install it INSIDE of the MPC, but you DO NOT need a kit...just a harddrive. Check the akai website for the tested manufacturers and model #s that should work without a problem.
