Loop issue in JJ OS

As far as the loop issue...the problem seems to be with Play/Start button. When you hit that button, it will start where you have your loop point set to. If you just hit PLAY it will start from the current position of the sequence...in that case, have it at the first beat of the first bar. JJ is really good a fixing (and breaking sh!t) so describe it a little better and he may be able to fix it.

It's wrong in the Akai OS for the 2500 as well.
Akai broke it first he just continued down the same path.

No like better scrolling on the TRIM screen, proper beat detection, cleaner methods of editing your slices, the simult sample trigger, just to name a few.
These are things that JJ added that Akai could have done just as easily while also taking care of issues that people have.

i think the scrolling in the trim screen sucks on both the Akai and JJ OS's... but i actually prefer the Akai over the JJ, because on the JJ if i have a long sample and i only need to adjust the end points by a little bit, i need to hit zoom like 20 times before it moves in single digit steps. that is just moronic. i end up saying forget it and settling for end points that aren't exactly where i would have wanted them.

they need to change it so it works like the 2000xl did with velocity sensitive scrolling. if you spin the data wheel slowly, it should move the end points in single digit steps. the faster you spin the data wheel, the larger the steps should become. zooming in should ONLY zoom in on the waveform, it should NOT affect the steps that the end points make.

that's my 2 cents and number 1 feature request.

I agree. I do prefer editing on the 2000/2000XL. However, I have no problems editing with the 2500..Akai or JJ OS...

We know they killed velocity trying to increase jog wheel life.
If they wanted the 2500 to be the best MPC ever as they claimed the original 2000 double jog wheel should have been used.
Since sample are just math I tend to enter number from the keypad and tweak them slightly.
I guess since I am still using some samplers that work only that way it still seems normal.

I don't recall Akai claiming the original 2000 is the best ever. It has more features then the MPCs before it and the 2500 adds several dozen more features than the 2000/2000XL in spite of a few missing features. Personally, I rather live the faults of the 2500 than going back to a 2000/2000XL.

Remember the video where they demonstrated the 2500 and had the 4k pushed to the back?

Akai was just quoting me from a testimonial........and the MPC 2500 still is the best MPC....

I wonder why Ms. Keys in the picture above doesn't have the 8 output expansion card in the MPC 4000. Instead, she is using all 8 individual outs of the MPC 2500 instead. From the way they are connected, it appears that she is using the MPC 2500 to trigger and perhaps sequence the 4000.

I second this. I was also in touch with the JJ developers (about another issue) but they simply couldn't understand what I was talking about. After five mails I gave up.
