sure vinyl has a great feel to it that is better to work with then the mpc sliders overall. but they both have unique qualities.
My advice for anyone who wants to do interesting techniques with their mpc is Just Don't Call it 'Scratching', then people won't get all uptight about 'real scratching' versus 'mpc scratching' or whatever.
you can tell hip hop is getting boring when people start talking about the 'right way to do things', and rules, traditions, etc. I guess its going to end up the same as institutionalized jazz.
(dont get me wrong there's still some great jazz players out there.)
