if i buy the mpc1000 and the m audio bx5a could i just get cables and connect the two and start from there? sorry im a beginner.

yeah. you would connect the main outs of the mpc to the monitors.

i do the same sometimes with my Rockit 5s. i just use balanced XLR to 1/4" cables.

you can start with a mpc and a pair of monitor but you need sounds, like samples from vynil/ computer or a synthesizer or anything.

what would i need besides a turntable to get a sample into the mpc from the vinyl.

a preamp or a dj mixer which has the preamp in there.
