any new updates are going to be bug fixes and fairly minor changes, unless something big changes.

though i am still for the removal of old program mode. as of now, just about everyone here has a while to sit and thoroughly learn all the new things

global program edit(mode + pad11).. covers the same options as normal program mode

you know, i think with the OS were going strong.. now i want to customize my mpc.. grey and wooden side panels.. love that retro look but that'll come sometime i guess..

going along with the customising subject: if jj could program in a 'themes' system where i could make my mpc look like windows vista, or mac OSX, that would be great, and it'd probably make the mpc1000 the best ever mpc.

NO, you are wrong, completely. Requests are what makes positive change happen. You are hypocrites. You all sat there and whined about 2.1 OS, and the pads and cried like little babies about other things, now you want to sit there and look down on other people who are doing the exact same thing you are.

We have the right to ask for what we want, we are consumers. If JJ doesn't want to make changes, that is a choice they can make. Akai doesn't listen to to our requests, and you all hate them for that, so you fukkers are never happy.

a child who cries because his family lives in a house with rats and can't afford a decent townhouse is different than a child who cries because his father won't upgrade from 1 jumbo widescreen TV to an in home movie theater.

codewise, I AM HAPPY and i think you'll find that most other folks are too.

bug reporting and informed, well thought out requests are what make a product better. i've made both - and i've also made some requests that in retrospect, i retract and wish i had not sent. why? because JJ IS AND HAS BEEN ON THE RIGHT TRACK FROM THE GET GO, and will CONTINUE.

i would buy any machine coded by JJ in the future - i am hoping he gets snapped up by some company or even considers coding a software for a PC or something. i would even delicately consider purchasing an AKAI product if it prominently said on the box "CODED BY JJ."

granted, i'd buy it used and refurbish it myself rather than buying a new akai unit. but there you have it.

There is definitely an appreciable difference between a kid who cries because they have rats in their home and some kid who cries because his pads on his MPC don't work.

Lets get this into perspective Nym, you are comparing your complaints about an OS to a poor indigent child, that is the acme of foolish. Arrogant. Humerous.

Don't backtrack. We are all spoiled, consumers who are no different from each other, whether we demand new features or whether we 'ask politely' as you put it. You aren't this humble little poor child with no home, you are probably some middle to upper middle class white kid, like 90% of the people on here man. Why would AKAI apologize, if none of us complained. If we all were just happy little bunnies like you want us to be, then they would have no reason to. Don't be a hypocrite man.

lol, that actually wasn't an allegory, it was an analogy. Your logic is that there is a difference between complaining when you already have everything you want and complaining when you feel you aren't getting your basic needs met. This arguement is flawed, becasuse it is subjective in the first place. You don't NEED an MPC. In fact, you don't NEED anything except food, shelter, love, etc. (maslow's hierarchy). My point is, your arguement doesn't even apply to this situation, because beyond basic needs, wants and needs are subjective.

Subjective in the sense that your MPC works fine as a paperweight, but not if you want reliable pads, OS's etc. Maybe somebody out there feels that they NEED certian functions in order to make their work. Realistically anybody could make a hot beat with a tape recorder, some scotch tape and a pair of scissors if they have the talent. The arrogance that you display is that you think you can set the bar for when a pad, OS, etc. are 'enough'. Its paternalistic, patronizing, and immature.

Besides that, this is a capitolist society. The demand for upgrades, better OS's etc. is what drives the market. If somebody complains and has the cash, people make what the masses want, plain and simple. JJ capitolized on this, so did you. The truth of the matter is I will never, want, need or desire Nym's pads, because I don't beat the shit out of my pads. But there is a market out there for them, so you sell them.

And besides all of this, the irony that a person would make a thread COMPLAINING about how they are sick of COMPLAINTS is absurd in the first place.
