i want to assign bass samples to my pads.....i need to use 25 notes,so i will need......25 pads:16 on the A bank, and 9 on the B bank,ok?my question is:when i will play these samples with my keyboard, via MIDI,can i play all the notes i assigned on the pads, will it change the bank automatically?I don't know if it's clear enough, but maybe you know that i'm a frenchman, and i try to do my best to be understood in english...I'll appreciate your help very much.Peace.

In the 4 hours you had between the 2 posts you could have easily put 1 sample on bank A, and one sample on bank B, and played all of your keyboard keys to see if it would play them both. Anyway ....

If you havent tried it out yet then yes it will work like that. Think of pad A01 as being keyboard key 1, A02 as key 2, C01 as key 17, and so on until D16 as key 64. The MPC is weird when it comes to keyboard keys. You can stick something on A01 and A02 but on your keyboard, A01 would be C2 and A02 could be E#4

if you really want the samples to play in order on the keyboard, you have to change your note numbers in the mpc. like binger0 was saying, you can assign them to pads, but when you play them on the keys, they wont be in order. the mpc is in general midi note number configuration. i think tutor has a program you can download that will assign your note numbers in a chromatic order. if not, just go in to the program and change each note number so they go in order, or you could assign samples in the right order with the configuration thats already there, but that might be more confusing.

...to you Mr Mesh, for your complete answer, but my problem was not to assign the pads and the nnotes in the "chromatic way",but to know if i can assign more notes that only on one bank and if the keyboard will play it...but i know now that the answer is yes ...BTW,i'll be very interested to have the program you talk about that puts the notes in the chromatic order automaticly, without doing it "by hand"....sorry for my bad english.....how can i find it?

hmmmm, not exactly sure. i remember a post about it a few months back, but dont remember exactly where it was. it may exist somewhere on the mpc-tutor main page. cant help much more than say do a search.
