Gettin a drum pattern to be exact without human error..

Is there a way to do this on the mpc 2k?

Because I have a sampled sequence which I am trying to make a drum pattern to, whenever I try to complete this it is slightly off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you might want human errors so it can sound real......if not the quantizer is your best friend.......

Prahs right. Also learn how to use swing on notes.

...and also learn to program a GOOD pattern,it'will not need errors to sound right.......

the swing is ur best friend

quantizing is the only way to make it exact, but if your doing hip-hop, you want some flaws, unless your into the mannie fresh type of beats. Even a real drummer makes mistakes.. he never his the kick/snare or whatever at the same velocity, so you should try to do the same.. you don't want your beats to be wayy off, but a little is fine. Once you have your basslines, precussion, and vocals in place, you will barely notice anything.

did you ever heard Dave Weckl playing drums? Do you thing he's mistaking?the fact is that we have to remember that the MPC is a machine,as good as it can be,it's only a machine and it cannot be compared to a good drummer,right?nowadays,most of songs don't need a good drummer,so that's why machines take such a big place in the audio production.Everybody,or almost everybody is able to program a beat(good or not),and many styles of music don't need a real drummer.....a good drummer don't make mistake,he just plays with is own human feeling,and sometimes that what we are trying to find with our machines?What d'you think?

Are you saying you are trying to make a drum track to match up with a sample?...(you said sampled sequence...) If so your problem is that the sample itself is not perfectly quantized, it's probably a little off, so if you leave your mpc drums perfectly quantized it's not gonna sound perfect. Gotta move your drums around to make it fit.

i don't say that there is a match drums VS machine,but many times users try to make the machine sounding as a real drummer...it might be good for some simple beats,but not for a great drum score...Right?
