downloading o.s. to zip drive directly

i need an o.s. my floppy drive is down and i was wondering if it is possible to download it straight from the site to a zip drive?

Can't speak on the 2kXL, but on the 2K it doesn't matter if you have the floppy drive or not. Get those 2 files (the .exe and .sys) on the Zip disk, and make sure the disk is in your drive and connected to your 2K when you turn it on. That's it. When I first got my 2k, my floppy drive didn't even work. I've always booted from and saved to Jaz disks, until I get this card reader thing jumpin' off. I'm not really trying to wait until I run into the infamous Iomega drive problems. Plus it takes up less surface area and system resources to have an internal card reader in my music PC than an extra Jaz drive and SCSI card.

i still dont understand how to get it on the zip drive. can you do it through 2 zip drives connected, and/or can i use a computer?

Of course. How else would you do it? Does your mpc come with an internet connection?

I think you can copy the os on the mpc from floppy to zip. I haven't try it tho. lol i would check but i am not by my mpc right now
