Grid editing! Is there anything else like it?

Is this unique to Akai? This is my new favorite way to sequence intricate data! Also loading a favorite sample and messing with it with the jog wheel is a great way to get cool effects.

Piano Roll on FL studio, Mv8800 etc etc. is similar

i cant deal with intricate data, its too unfunky. i like the uncut raw street swing of no-quantize real time free jazz boom bap overstandationilization, channelling the heavyweight hip hop soul power of all the mpc producer greats into my furious bronx party jams.

unfortunately my timing is total azz so it ends up sounding like someone even anticon wouldnt sign, halfway dead on poppers and red bull playing shroom twister on a 1k with 5% pad functionality

I use the grid edit for tweaking midi notes and its just so good! I think my favourite thing is inserting control changes and being able to draw curves with the Q links.
I didn't know that feature existed at first, thought "oh I wish I could draw curves with Qlink" and then discovered that actually I could.

I used to a computer for sequencing and it would zap my creativity very quickly, but using the MPC is so useful and makes me more creative!

I don't use the grid edit for drums unless I want to lay down a pattern which my fingers can't do in realtime. (I'm not very good at the pads)

WHERE CAN I FIND A TUTORIAL FOR GRID EDIT. IM HEARING SO MUCH GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT....I WANNA TRY TO INCORPORATE IT INTO MY PRODUCING REGIME.....

mode pad 15+a couple hours of experience is the best tutorial you'll find.
