Good to see JJ working on making the 2500 better all the time.

Thank you JJ!

New feature?

By LivePsy Fri May 25, 2007 10:45 pm
No new feature. Isn't getting rid of a few problems making it better? Even if those problems are not affecting me right now?

Like the freeze on save bug with 1.22, you can smugly go around saying its not a problem. But it happened to me within 1 week of having the 2500. Any bug fix is a good thing, even if I will never experience the bug myself.

I'm on 5.15, and it seems like each new update fix releases another bug. Is this sh!t worth upgrading to or what. This is getting annoying right about now, 20 OS updates by JJ and none of them bug fu(king free...whats the point of releasing new updates if they aint bug free. This is pretty much same sh!t akai is doing. I like JJ's OS and the extra workflow, but damn when is this sh!t going to stop. And instead of releasing just another update number, create bug free OS!

Let's look at this from a more realistic point.
You could update everytime and never see a single bug, the reason is they are workflow based.
Depending on how you use your MPC you may never see the bugs, but JJ is responding because someone saw something and was able to tell him how to recreate it.
Now this same aspect is why JJ can't find bugs prior to release.
The MPC's are very deep and highly capable so it just not possible for them to test everything it can do in every possible way someone could use it.
At a one time fee of $30 it's just not practical to do BETA testing so it comes down to the find a problem I will quickly resolve process.
Regardless if you use JJ or Akai OS you have always been able to go back to the previous version if you had a problem so it's not horrible.
You never know you may be the only person who uses it in a way that would show a new problem that he could easily fix.
All-N-All it ain't really that serious a deal because unless this version has a bug discovered it's probably the last.
The 1k has maxed and I don't think the intent was to take the 2500 past the 1k.
Stripping code from the 1k is a can of worms not taken lightly and could cause some overall issues so we are probably at the point of saying thanks for the memories.

Exactly. I would rather have one solid OS than to keep updating every other day with an OS that has new bugs with every release. I still use the JJ OS for playing around..but the Akai OS when I need something dependable.

if you dont fukkin liek it then no ones fukkin makin you take it!

and btw get this - nothing in this world is perfect

might be better if you look at it like this - every update is another insight into each stage of one possible point of the complete OS(should it actually exist)s entropy

whooooooo

I think i might have found a bug with the midi? When I Open up Protools to create a midi/instrument track to play/record Reason. The midi bar is suppose to bounce up and down to let you know that midi is working. But when i hit the key for a midi track, the bar/midi signal freezes in Protools.

I was wondering has anyone else tried using plugin Insturments with protools and the MPC2500(jjos) and had a the same problem?
