Basic question about Q Slider

Hi,

I just wanted to make sure got the limitations right:

- it is only possible to assign one slider to one pad at a time, so I cannot manipulate all smaples of a program with one slider, right?

- I cannot set the slider to work on different pads in different sequences, so it is rather hard to manipulate different pads when using the unit on stage, right? Is it possible to change the slider assignements with control message maybe?

PS: I am still disgruntled about the issue that I cannot really use keyboard samples with the MPC 1000 because it doesn't release correctly when using the sustain pedal. Just wanted to mention this so my (MPC)world-weariness is not forgotten that soon. I like the MPC better than Cubase with a zillion plugins anyway. Peter Glaser, a German I don't know what, expressed why in an interview; he was talking about the early Kraftwerk works (I am citing from memory): "There is this new computer and they use it to produce some sound. The computer says: 'Hey, I got one billion other sounds, why don't you try them all?' And the Kraftwerk people said: 'No thank you, we got just what we wanted.'"

nice quote. i feel the same way about the "deep simplicity" of the mpc1000.

right - on akai os 2.11.
check this page out: the os on it will let you control a whole pgm's qlinks simultaneously. there is also a bunch of stuff you'll like.

do you mean different programs?
you can only control the qlink effects on the program you are currently on.

lamentably, no. we were so close with the jj os to gettin this feature, but the space filled up right before it was completed.

maybe someday when unnecessary redundancies (hah speak of the devil) are removed...
