is the Variation SLider and the effects board connected..???

how u doin guyz!!??? on my mpc2kxl ive been try'n to get my note variation slider to work while im playing a sound. but seems not to work. it only changes the sound when use the "filter", "attack" or "decay". and it states on my EDITAFEX that an AFEX board is not installed.. do i need that for the note VARIATION SLIDER??? i wanted to use the note variation slider for my Bass sounds..nah mean... thnks guyz!!!

Note variation slider cannot edit effects parameters, just the ones you mentioned - decay, tuning, attack and filter.
To make sure if you have effects board (eb16) installed, open the bottom of mpc and look if it's there, simple. The correct place where it should be is shown in the manual.
I assume that you are using 2000xl model, I don't know where effects board in 2000 model is.

Make your bass note loop.

Set the nv slider to TUNE for that bass note.

Note: It is NOT realtime tuning.

It is ONLY when the loop retriggers that you will hear the new nv slider positioning change.

It's a retrigger tuning and NOT realtime.
