ok... this may sound kinda strange:
just loaded a bunch of programs, created a little 4 bar loop with the first program.
track1 pad1 hihat
track2 pad2 and pad3 snares
track3 pad4 kick
you see overdubbed snares from two pads!
now i didn“t like the sound of the snare so i went to main screen, track2, pgm and turned the data wheel. boom two perfect snares - but in that program they were on pad5 and pad6???
turned the data wheel once more, two snares again, this time from pad3 and pad4.
then i went to track1 and track3 and tried it there with the hihats and the kicks and it worked again - the mpc played a kick where i recorded one even if the program i chose had the kick on a different pad.
the programs are all from one source, but how can the mpc actually change the pad used in a sequence to another pad which happens to carry a matching sample?

Lord knows, but it sounds like it must have something to do with GM? I've never come across it, but will give it a try later.
