Well these new features are pretty amazing! Reading the comparison, it says you can now have 8 audio tracks alongside the beat playing....??!!!

I have a couple of questions for you guys,

1) how does this affect polyphony?

2) does anyone notice longer samples, like a crash, get cut off before the poly limit is reached?

3) does the sequencer ever miss notes, ie not play a sample when it should be there?

4) can you use effects/ eq on the audio tracks?

Right now I am thinking of getting a used 1000 to replace my 2000xl (which replaced the 1000 that i used to have, lol), these audio features are mostly the reason why...I could run tracks straight from the mpc digital to a cd burner!!!

does anyone here try working this way?

1) how does this affect polyphony?

exactly the way you'd think it would. a mono = 1 voice, a stereo = double. watch the result in the polyphony detector.

2) does anyone notice longer samples, like a crash, get cut off before the poly limit is reached?

not unless you want it to be cut off.

3) does the sequencer ever miss notes, ie not play a sample when it should be there?

not unless you've muted the track

4) can you use effects/ eq on the audio tracks?

yeah i think so.
i don't use audio tracks becausei 'm a programming head but they are awesome. you should post this in the jj forum though.
