MPC 1000 pads VS. ASR X pads

Hey, great forum here, very informative. I had a question hopfully somone will be able to answer. I have a ASR X Pro and a triton extreme I use to make beats with. I mainly record, and track out all my beats to Sonar from the Triton. I would like to get an MPC to sequence my beats and use for banging out drums. I do not enjoy sequencing in the Triton. I have read alot of posts on here saying that the MPC 1000 pads aren't that great and that the 2500 pads are alot better. Could anyone give me a comparison to the pads on the ASR X VS. the MPC 1000 pads? Do the pads on the 1000 really break? or is it mostly hype. Before I had the Triton all I used was the ASR X for all my beats. I actually really liked the pads on the ASR X and the sequencer as well. I realize that the MPC sequencer is so much better though. Coming from an ASR X user am I going to kill myself down the road if I purchase the 1000 over the 2500?

there are new 1000 pads that are supposedly coming out (that i imagine/hope will be similar/same as the 2500 pads). you should wait and see if akai will actually start shipping the 1000 with these newer pads before you buy a 1000 with the older faulty pads. they probalbly won't but you never know.

Hey thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Why do you say they probably won't? If they don't put them on new machines and just sell them for existing MPC 1000's it almost sounds as if Akai would be planning on discontinuing the MPC 1000 all together.
