Questions for my 2000XL (inputting samples, pad switching)

Hi, I recently purchased an mpc 2000XL and the pads feel a bit different than the 2000. Is that normal? I still can't test my XL because it has an internal zip installed and I have no zip discs with samples. How can I get samples in the machine? I don't have a zip on my computer or an external zip. The only thing I can think of is transferring samples via midi from my m-audio audiophile 192. I don't even know if that would work though.

Is it possible to take the pads from my mpc 2000 and put them into my 2000XL? They feel more sturdy. The 2000XL ones seem to feel different. Like more squishy for some reason. I am not sure if that is normal.

Did you know that the MPC's can sample?

Yes I knew that you could sample from various inputs using the mpc. Kind of a ridiculous and undermining question I must say. Though I suppose some weird people might own one and not know this...but that would mean they are completely ignorant.

Neither of my questions were actually answered here but I do appreciate the responses regardless.

No worries though, I switched the pads on my own from help elsewhere.

As for the samples I was referring to samples already on my computer and how to get them into my mpc....I was not talking about sampling off of a turntable or any other input source. I thought that was clear when I stated:

If you don't have a zip yet then I would advise you to hunt down an ide cf reader for your mpc and a usb one for your pc. Don't sleep on it 'cause they become rare. In the mean time you can still play the samples on your pc and sample them in your mpc no?
