Movie Grooves

I'm always after more soundtrack records these days, probably 85% of the shit I pick up these days is soundtrack. Anyhow, found this site. They have a heap of rarer ost's if you dig them. A lot of its on cd but thats not a problem for me.

1 thing.. sound track and score can often be diff things.. so be aware of that man incase u didnt know (dont get me wrong maybe u do just thought id post incase).

Soundtracks are more the tracks featured in films.. and scores is the background music for scenes.. setting the moods etc..

Ur more often gonna find dope sh!t in scores then in soundtracks (if a film has each which they usually do).. as long as whichever dealer / shop selling them has labeled each correctly.

I much prefere scores, they one of my fav things to sample actually so many dope chops.

The fight scene in the pool room thing in Carlitos way has a real dope thing behind it, u know the bit where he hidin in the toilet shoutin the mean sh!t but in reality he dont wanna be there.. but lucky for him when he comes out he realizes everyone dead anyway hahahah

I wanna find out if Iron Side has either a score thing out with scene music.. or if they came from library records (which is probably more likey).. If anyone knows this please let me know.

you should email movie grooves, it says somewhere on there site they're happy to try and track shit down for you. but they will probably be able to tell you whether one was ever released at least.

scores/soundtracks... yep, i guess im talking more about scores, but i def dig for soundtrack too.

anything by Roy Budd is usually nothing short of amazing imo.

Co sign that one, I made many a beat from Roy Budd.. I think he responsible for the Iron Side Theme as well but i could be mistaken.. i got it some where so maybe I should look, maybe it was him doin the score too I did wonder that

Quincy Jones did the Ironside theme, no idea about the score tho.

hahah yeah ur right, not sure why i thought roy budd I think at that moment while hearin in my head i confused it with that roy budd bein tailed track, which i think is on one of the dusty fingers lol.. yeah my mistake

There was a link to this cool lil shop I used to check for soundtracks/scores. Looks like they have taken down there site though. Anyhow, the shop is called The Record Album and is on Terminus Road in Brighton. Its right next to the station. Not really a cheap spot but they have tons of rare shit. Definately worth checking out if your hunting for a hard to find score.

Yeah I remember that place in Brighton.


Stopped off there a few years back its a dope shop.


Might have to get back there at some point.

yeh, i havent been through there in years. i remember about 5 years back the old guy who runs it got jumped by some dude. was in the paper, dude came in and robbed him. that shit was sad, he's a really nice guy.

i'll def try and pass through there next time i'm in brighton.

harsh deals. he's will nice that 'ol bloke. super friendly. that shop is immense for soundtracks and rare stuff. as u said its not particularly cheap, but its quite a spot. its been mentioned by fat boy slim as where he goes digging (obivously he lives in brighton), but point being if uve got a bit cash, ull get some amazing old records in pristine condition.
