Sample Playback??????

I just got my hands on my very first mpc(2kxl).

I notice that once i sample a loop and assign it to a pad, each time i hit the pad the sample will over-dub itself. is there a function that will allow the sample to start from the begining each time i hit the pad without the overdub? i guess im looking for a start/stop kinda thing.

When you assign your samples to pads in the program menu, you can set how the sample should be played (poly, mono, ... ) if you press the pad. Just play around with it.
